Sign Message Contest

On the night of Sept. 25, someone tagged the Judson Church sign. On the one hand, we wished this had not taken place. On the other hand, we hear you loud and clear: the sign messages were too boring!  The pastor, Rev. Travis Norvell, tries, honestly he does, to come up with clever and meaningful phrases. God bless him, he went to seminary and earned a Master of Divinity, not a Master in Fine Arts. So he is asking for your help to come up with better messages for our sign.

In honor of our 110th year of existence, the pastor is giving away 11 ten dollar gift certificates to Butter Bakery for the 11 messages used on our sign throughout this year. Please send your suggestions directly to him, gtnorvell@judsonchurch.org  Keep in mind our sign is not that large, so keep your messages short and no multisyllabic words.

And if you are the perpetrator of this act, please know we hold no hard feelings. In fact, we want to help you. If you come forward, we will pay the cost for you to take an art class through Minneapolis Community Education.

NICOLLET OPEN STREETS – JUDSON WILL BE THERE

The Kingfield and Lyndale neighborhoods are excited to bring back Nicollet Open Streets this Sunday, September 22, 2019, from 11 am – 5 pm. Sixteen blocks of Nicollet will close to motorized traffic from Lake Street to 46th Street. Nicollet street will be free for biking, walking, and connecting with neighbors. Judson will have a booth located on the west side of Nicollet, just north of the 41st intersection. Offerings at the booth include Blessings (dogs, bikes, sore knees, etc.), a Gratitude Board, a Prayer Wall, and other information. Stop by and check us out. Hope to see you there.

BREAKFAST AND BLESSINGS SERVICE

Join us this Sunday, September 8, at 9:30 am for a potluck breakfast worship service. It will be our regular Sunday worship service, but with food. We will be gathering in Fellowship Hall. Please bring a breakfast item to share. Help with clean up after the service will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Worship service will be at Lake Harriet Bandshell at 10 am

Blessings Extravanganza This Sunday, August 25, at 9:30 am

We offer our Blessing Extravaganza – where we will bless Beasts, Backpacks, and Bicycles. This year we’ll bless those and we’re gonna keep on blessing: The Playground, The Peace Pole, The Raingarden, The Little Free Library, Relationships (maybe even old Recipes that don’t work anymore). Bring your beast, bring your backpack, bring your bicycle, and bring your neighbor. Stay for the entire fiasco or just a “bless-n-go.” The service will be an outdoor event.  We’ll assemble at the playground and go from there…
