Education – Children, Youth and Adults

Exploring and expanding our thinking on a variety of topics and issues designed to deepen our faith journeys is a commitment Judson makes to adults and children.  This commitment is lived out in a number of ways.

Over the past year, groups have met on Sunday mornings to engage in a variety of topics as diverse as spiritual practices (contemplative prayer, sacred reading, journaling, and spiritual practices for parents), household economics, and the relevance of Jesus for us today, “Circles of Trust”, environmental stewardship, and the spirituality of art.

There are also many other opportunities throughout the year to take part in smaller group discussions in order to explore a topic more deeply. Our mid-week Lenten series and Bible study groups are two examples.

Following the service is a time of fellowship until 11 am. Christian Education for all ages follows the time of fellowship.

Education – Children, Youth and Adults

Sunday mornings from 11:00 am-12 noon are a very creative time for our children and youth, and the adults who are accompanying them during this

“Year of DISCOVERING”! Small groups are busy discovering new things about themselves and each other, and about the world we live in; discovering and wondering about ancient stories and ancestors in faith, and possible meanings for us today; visiting church members who are no longer able to get out-of-the-house; and discovering and exploring the way of Jesus, and how that “way” invites and challenges us to live our own lives.

In addition to Sunday mornings, our 6th-12th graders participate in the south Minneapolis TRUST Youth Group, an ecumenical gathering focused this year on socializing and service-learning. The newly forming group meets the last Wednesday evening of every month at St. John’s Lutheran Church on 49th and Nicollet.

If you are a new family interested in Sunday School opportunities for your child or young person, please contact Beth Rademacher, our Coordinator for Children, Youth and Families – and 612-822-0649, ext. 11. You’re also encouraged to connect with other parents who may be able to answer questions you have or point you in the right direction.

This Week In Adult Education Hour:

Join us for the wrap up of up of Our Voices Through Stories series. We’ll look at examples from Scripture and from life of how to evolve our life stories in these three ways: Reject (an old or no longer useful story); Revise (deepen or expand an existing story); Re-Create (write a new story for a new chapter of your life). We’ll free our voices to write the story we want to live. This will be an opportunity to write or jot notes for an oral story and to listen to the stories of those in our beloved community. We begin promptly at 11.
