Thanks to all who supported the TRUST Youth Trip
to Washington, D.C. 

The trip, which took place at the end of July, was a huge success.  The youth from all five of the churches that participated shared their stories at a luncheon on Sunday, September 18 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.  The youth who participated in the tripshared photos a video (laying a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier) as well as talking about their experiences.  Thank you for your support of TRUST Youth!

Summer 2011 TRUST Youth Trip

Washington, D.C.
July 22 – 29, 2011

An amazing, interesting and enriching slate of activities is planned for this summer’s  Youth Trip to our nations capital. The itinerary will include the following & more:

• Take part in a Shabbat service at a Jewish synagogue
• Attend Sunday morning worship at the National Cathedral
• Share in one of the daily prayers at the Islamic Center
• Visit the National Holocaust Memorial and Museum to tour the permanent exhibits and spend time hearing the story of a Holocaust survivor
• Meet with advocacy and lobbying groups from the UCC, Baptist Joint Committee, and ELCA, to help prepare for meetings with the staff of Minnesota’s congressional delegation
• Visit Arlington National Cemetery, the Vietnam, Korean, and World War II Memorials as well as the Lincoln Memorial

Beyond the activities of the trip itself, the opportunity to collaborate, plan and share these experiences with youth from other TRUST churches is an enriching experience providing the opportunity to make new friendships and strengthen old ones.
