Roberta Yates
passed away at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, at the Woodbury Senior Care facility.  Her nephew, Douglas Foster, and other family members were with her and said a prayer and sang a hymn as she was breathing her last. Roberta was 95-years-old.  I was privileged to visit with her last Thursday and hold the hand she held out and pray for her life and that she might find peace.  Then I sat in her rocking chair to pray and listened to the John Denver music that she loved.  I enjoyed seeing all the photographs of her in her prime, one showing her holding her two beloved bulldogs.   She asked for her ashes to be placed in a favorite site inBloomington, which will be done at a family memorial service when spring comes.  Please keep Roberta’s loved ones in your prayers.  ~ Pastor Nadean Bishop

Adult Forums:  Mission and Meaning
One of Judson’s missions is that we offer inspiration and support for individuals to go out into the world and make it a better place.  All of us are called to live our faith in action—whether we are retired or employed, at the start of our lives or in the fullness of age.  How do we discern the work we are called to each day?  What about the way we move and relate in the world feeds our souls?  How does Judson contribute to the ways we live out our faith?  Each of these three weeks, we’ll hear from our friends about the intentional and spirit-led choices they’ve made regarding vocation.  We’ll also reflect on our own lives.  We’ll talk about our church community and the role it plays:  What are we doing that works?  How could we do it better?  Our featured panelists will be:

January 29—Beth Waterhouse

February 5—Sarah Baker and Brad Joern

(facilitated by Pam Joern)
