Vision Statement

We are a spiritually grounded community united in providing sanctuary for all who enter.  We seek to open ourselves to the healing and transforming power of God's love as we seek to follow the life of Jesus:  honoring our deepest differences, seeking justice and mercy, discovering and implementing our gifts, and nurturing our children.

Sunday Worship

Judson conducts Sunday worship service at 10:00 AM. The service lasts about an hour and is filled with both traditional hymns as well as contemporary music. Children are especially welcome to attend the service, and there is a time with children with a brief story and prayer. Child care is provided, and children can also participate in a music program held during the service.

Worship usually includes a brief personal reflection by a lay person, as well as a sermon. Dress is casual or formal as you prefer. Judson provides outstanding music through its choir and organ, and often includes soloists, small ensembles, and instrumentalists.

After the worship service, there is an opportunity for fellowship with coffee and snacks provided. This is followed at 11:30 AM with an hour long Adult Forum, with a variety of topics ranging from health care to spirituality. During this time, children attend Sunday school.  People are free to attend, socialize in the Sanctuary, or depart.

Affiliations

Judson is a congregational community, meaning it brings authority from within, rather than from the outside. It is a member of the American Baptist Churches USA, the Alliance of Baptists, the Association of Welcoming and Affirming Baptists, and the Baptist Peace Fellowship. American Baptist congregations balance their autonomy with interdependence. American Baptists recognize that authority comes upward from the local congregation and does not accept authority from any to govern what the congregation believes about the Bible, worship services, and personal freedom.
